Testimony of a perivous non-writer

Did you know that I didn't always write? That writing is actually pretty new to me?Well it is.

I always  knew I could write, Mum had always said I had a talent for it.I didn't really start with writing though.I remember telling stories, the earliest I can recall was making up a story about a girl who had a jewel, or treasure hidden somewhere and there was all these different things she had to push to get it.That was told at the Lake Daniel's tramp, and a boy heard and he really liked it [boys liking girls stories?]So I guess it was pretty good.

Of course there was DB but though that slowly improved my writing I didn't get any sudden inspirations that sent me leaping about for paper.

I've tried writing in diaries but I can't really stand them, too boring.
I've had private writing lesson but though they helped I forgot most of what I learned.

It changed one night forever and for good. That was the night I confessed my sins [with many a tear] and became a Christian, I was 12.That was the first night I remember scribbling pages and pages of praises in what I call my "God book".

After I got baptized a friend and I had it on our hearts to write for the young girls we knew my reason? So they would have a better start than I did to be more informed than I was.So I started writing.I can't remember what I wrote in the first issue of Jewels of Jesus [JOJ]
but what I do know is that every time after I've written something I've been challenged in my walk with God often for a short time afterward ingnoring Him.

But I've noticed my stories have gotten better, I don't know what you think, but on top of all the writing studying I've done , at that moment when I get an inspiration all that is forgotten I see what is happening before my eyes and I try and describe what I see as best as I can.But I have to be writing or the story moves on without me. So that is how I write, ask Esther  ;D. I got to go now.

An Interview

Question 1: Give us your name (not last name for safety reasons), age (optional), location, hobbies, interests, etc. Basically, introduce yourself! :)
Hello I'm Tiffany.I am a born Kiwi, no not a bird ;) I love reading, writing, dancing, historical reenacting,  sewing well a whole lot of stuff. I am homeschooled teenager.

Question 2: How did you become born again?
Well that is a question.I was born into a Christian family so I've know about the Lord all my life.I gave my life to the Lord at the age of five, but nothing really "happened"  it seemed to me anyway. Well when I was 12 I fully realised the extent of my sin. I got baptized in Feburary the soonest possible.

Question 3: What is your current walk with the Lord like?
Like nothing I ever expected.Strange and wonderful high and low.
At the moment I am mostly just learning how really wise He is and beginning to grasp just how big.

Question 4: How do you help and serve your family?
Cooking, things like that, I'm sure I could do a lot more.

Question 5: How do you serve others?
Well the biggest thing would be writing with the organizer of this great interview- Esther, we do a girls magazine JoJ [The latest issue is on Esther's blog, have a peek !]

Question 6: What are some of your favourite things?
Writing -which has actually been since I've become a Christian, strange huh?
Dancing, Reading a good [morally] book that starts with a bang and keeps the attention held all the way through.Hash browns.

Question 7: What are some of your struggles?
Temper. Words. Thoughts.

Question 8: What encouragement do you have to give?
God made you as you are, and He loves you for that, why if He made the autumn leaves beautiful, do you think because of your sin, He missed you out? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
This doesn't mean you shouldn't exercise, every one should.
And also be very careful in what you say of other's physical apperance. I have a very special friend who is teased because of her "width" some don't mean to hurt her, but she really does feel it.To me she is a really lovely girl but she won't see this if people do not tell her. And that is really sad, but it mustn't be left 'til the moment when she has heard it soo many times she believes she's ugly and will laugh at you if you say otherwise. So be extra careful.

New Story sample

Thats enough gloomy stuff. I've got some reading for you. Your officially my guinea-pigs, feel good?:D
This fantasy, paralle universe stuff. So its not here. And its meant to be weird:
By the way Baeren is for that world the root-word of Barren. I LOVE ae combinations eg: Mae Thaephania...
                                                  .......................................................

On the dry, wind swept, plains of Baeren-Fowl, a land without birds. The dust-devils [what are baby dust tornadoes called?] danced their, wild earth smothering patterns.

There was no other noise to be heard here, except the kneening of the wind, this land was empty of life,
well almost...

At first, the sound came on the cooler breeze of the south lands, a rare happening in this every-dry country.
It was the weak cry of a newborn on the southern reaches of Baeren-Fowl, A place the locals called Last Hill.

The babe was weak, nought but a few days old, she was laid in a secluded, small, depression on the north side of Last Hill, with only a wind carved log for protection. Her plainitive crys had reached the dust-dryaids, and these clay coloured women had glided from the mid-reaches of Baeren-Fowl to investigate. They carried this stranger to their dusty hovels, fed her and spoke to her in their various wind voices. Thus the girl grew

For those who got a bit panicked

yeah, yeah, I wasn't at DB.On Sunday I got sick, the right side of my body went numb and felt heavy, I couldn't walk properly and I couldn't straighten my right ring finger, I couldn't think, or talk properly it was really scary, and I started thinking would I ever be able to move the right side of my body again. We were still at choir so Dad, Nick and Perrine prayed for me they all looked really worried, the numbing then left my body and went to my head [Don't ever forget to pray!Especially with other people!!] Mum came from home and we decided to go to the doctors because they though I'd had a stroke. That was really scary, people die of them, I was thinking this day has completely turning around, they were saying I might have to go to hospital, great again, already having flash-backs.It turned out to be hiperventaltion -common what a relief- some people completely freeze up.The simtims are similar to a  stroke though. We went to Naomi's for tea and thats what I threw up.Felt bad Monday stayed in bed the whole day sleeping and reading.I pretty much fine now 'cepting a sorish throat.

By the way its really freaky knowing exactly what you want to say but it coming out completely different.

Sewing in the 1900s

When I went to the library last I found a book and I've gone slightly mad about it.
It's a sewing book about remaking vintage clothes from as far back as 1920s, the idea is to make them "modern" while still keeping their vintage charm [I can't really stand straight modern clothes, just not my style]While she has some nice ideas some of them are a bit, strange, she's into retro.

1900s classification
2nd hand - dates from now to 1990s
Retro -1980 to 1960
Vintage - 1950 to 1920
Anitque - 1920 and earlier

Retro is mainly, hippie and synthetic, how horrid!!
Vintage is a whole lot more, refined, swirly calf-length dresses
Anitque is Edwardian, then before the great war, or after they had these ugly dresses that hung off the shoulders like rectangles [the idea a short man's body in a girly coloured dress] don't forget the skull cap
hats uuggghhh.

One other thing I learned was how to tell a garments age whether it had a lable or not
before the 1940s, zips were only used on uniforms. They used elastic and domes for tailored fitting instead. 10 years later metal  zips came in on dresses and skirts but fitted in the side seams or under the arm.1950 had them running down the front. The nylon zip came out in the 60s but look closely as it might of had a repair job done long after it was made. The overlocker came in the 70s so if you find anything over-locked it will be from the 70s onwards. It is easy to confuse 50s dresses with 80s dresses as they copied 50s designs. If the item has overlocking and a nylon zip it was made after 1980.
also in the 50s they had scalloped necklines which were, of course, copied in 1980.
So after reading most of the book I remembered that I had a dress with a scalloped neck so I hauled it out to see if it was 50s or 80s the bold white, blue, black pattern said 80s all over, sure enough it was overlocked.I am wearing it now but this vintage make-over thing got to me, it is now a skirt just below knee length and took awhile to make, well, shortening the hem was the worst. But you don't need to know exactly what happened:D.This was a bit of a random post I must admit, I hope it was kinda interesting.

About preparing for marriage

Yeah, I know marriage? This is a really great way to 'find a husband' "How do we expect to find a wonderful Christian spouse when all we do is go to church, go to work, and go to an occasional happy hour. Run hard and fast after Jesus and look to the left and the right and marry the person at your side."
This does still include praying if this is the guy God wants for you, but seeing as you are running after God He'll tell you when. [In all thy ways, acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths Proverbs-3v6] most girls carry a fat list of 'maybes'  and want to marry a sold-out [for God] godly man, but few of us take the log out of our own eye. What kind of  girl would he marry?
REMEMBER, YOU WILL NEVER REGRET ANYTIME YOU SPENT ON YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD AND MINISTRY FOR THE LORD. You are building faith and character to take into your marriage. And your husband will be thank full if you don't bring debt into your marriage, so work as unto the Lord.
parphrase from preparing to be a help meet
And if you are running after God that guy will marry you, because he will see the real you with Jesus flowing through you and he loves you just as you are.

I decided I'd bore you...

...So I'll do just that. I've got choir tonight I'm a soprano [highest female voice group] I can [just] sing an A# one octave about mC, if that interests you, wait it doesn't and if you say anything is interesting in this post I won't believe you. I've sewn the elastics [that go round the ankle] on my pointes.
Oh by the way I can draw [ahem, only females in historical costume and mountains mostly]And I wish I knew how to put pictures on my blog, but'll ask Dad, it looks a bit bleak without them. I barely know anything about computers.
So continue my train of thought, I'm going to read my A night of characters for DB [to explain DB in this post is the best time I think] In short its our writing group and it stands for Dead Boring, see told ya it'd fit :),  and perfect for us budding authors to get good comments and things to work on and hear others [awesome!]  stories.
Ok I've got to go eat tea. I hope you missed the last line, because you were snoring [that might be a bit harsh] Ok you were taking your beauty sleep and are very sorry you missed the, end but when you reach the end again your in the place were dreams are woven.

A writer

I am a writer. I am learning to be a writer.I believe all writers are doomed to be night owls, with a note pad beside their bed for 1:00am inspirations [glad to say my latest yet is round 11-12pm] I am learning what a crazy life a writer leads, how they lead a love/hate relationship with their pen.I mean, writers like me are in the middle of a story, tearing our minds out for the next scene, and vowing never to write. But... that little God-given story-tellin' part inside you gets excited and inspired and you just have to write.

I am a writer that usually will not write unless she hhhhaaaassss to, I cannot keep a diary, I am too impatient to write in it every day,  I've got better things to do. [I have a plan to stop people reading my diary, I write sooo fast and messyly that its TIFFY CODE :D]
But I am trying to break this habit of only writing when I have to. I am not saying I keep a diary [waaaayy too boring] but I try to write about something.

I am a Fiction writer, a story-teller, I just love making things up, and hate writing of things that don't require imagination, I don't love movies for this reason.I am a book worm, but lately I've got tried of books, they might be boring or it might just be me, so I've tried writing what I want to read, the blessings of being a writer :).

Also I'm in love with making up characters that seem real, that are real to me and the reader..That tell me their story, well that's the aim.So expect to see things about characters.
I have a book that is just for characters and you know how the books have name and subject in the corner, well I've written on my subject BEWARE OF WHO MAY JUMP OUT :D. Also beware this DB, I hope :)

A song

This is a song I really like [it is modern music, but its the lyrics that count]
Its Christian -yes I know I haven't stated the fact that I am loved by the great I AM and that I am learning to know Him and love Him-
This song is based on the Bible  Corinthians somewhere you know 'if  I don't have love I am like a clanging cymbal'[parphrase] anyway this is the link the proof of your love
tell me if it doesn't work.

-Tiffany

should work now :D

Recipe

Ok this is something random I just made up

mix raw sugar, ginger and cinnamon together get a granny smith apple a dip it into the mix really quite nice, you can make it as spicey as you like. You could try it without the sugar. The sugar being raw is crunchy. This is probably good for you.
Enjoy!

I really like it, it's better than cinnamon sugar, but then again, I like ginger a lot!

Nothing much

I'm at home what do I see?The gum tree being pressed over by the lengendary nor'west wind. The 'wise' sheep sitting in the shade of the dominating willow. All around the house I hear the wind dancing, whistling, bumping into it as if was in the way. Well I suppose it is .It is very sunny here but  not warm enough for T'shirts [by far] just the golden enough to make one think it's spring.

Anyway that was a piece of random writing, I wanted to write about something, but nothing terribly interesting . I'm gonna have to find something to write about.Oh we're going to be in the Rangiora kids market tomorrow.

En pointe

Today we went to Chch and I got my point shoes.I know I've been dead set against them but the ballet lines aren't quite the same, I changed my mind after seeing The RNZB [royal nz ballet] teehee t'is funny how things change. It's sooo awesome being up En [on] they feel slightly wrong if you aren't up En and as you roll up well thats a different matter. They don't really hurt, more of an ache but then I wasn't up for long sooo yeah. I will be doing more stuff at ballet,  I've been up En several times at home [naughty me :)] but I watched the girls go up last year soo I know the right angle etc. Sorry to bore all non-ballet-ists but I'm really excited, wish I could take a photo.Has anyone had DB idea's thanks to my last post, teeeheee heee.

A night of characters

I was in the library the other day shelving books, when I thought would it be worse to spend a night in the muesem {give up cannot spell that word Mum can't either} or a night in the library. I asked S' and she wasn't sure. Now just in case you were wondering, well, it'd be 'bout the same both are public places, no big deal. Well that'd make sense if you haven't seen or read A night in the muesum , the basic idea is that all the creatures wake up at night and walk around.

So I was wondering, would it be worse to have a library full of characters jump out at you, or have a lot of stuffed animals come to life?
My opinion, the library by far, I mean I wouldn't mind meeting Whinne the Pooh,  Jobyna, Lucy, Mr-Tumnus,  Aslan, Elizabeth Bennet,  Emma Woodhouse  or Lady Grace Cavendish
But if I were to meet The White Witch,  Jack Frost [ok he's not really all that bad, more a silly fool ],  Veruca the Vile,  Gredal [I had to add my villans:)], Eillad or any of the Villans that are sure to be found in every book, I sure I wouldn't know what to do that's not even talking of their helpers, armies or horrors.
I haven't even started with the Non Fiction - all the serial killers, murders, Hitler, Stalin etc

You would find only the non fictionists in a meusem [at best] the worst might be the Dinosaur skeletons  on display, but, hey, they're in books too, fiction or no.

A writer should remember, I think that, the more realistic they paint their character the more able s/he is
able to step out of the page.
And I know all too well that characters have a bad habit of doing just that.

By the way this is my first long post, there will be more... :)

I like writing about characters

P.S DB story ideas anyone?
